Kountry Kids Preschool 

is passionate about helping to

guide young children through their

early childhood development years

 with a stable, enriching

and loving environment.

The overall goal of our approach

is to instill a "love for learning" in  

every child in a fun and educational

 way that meets their individual needs.

Denise Ecroyd:

Owner/Director/Teacher

Education: I graduated from Sonora High in 1989. I then attended Columbia College where I graduated with honors with an AA degree in Liberal Studies, an AS degree in Child Development and a certificate in Child Development. I currently hold a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit. I have been working in the child development field since 1986.

Family: I have been married since December 1989 to my wonderful and supportive husband, Jeff. We have three sons, Joseph, Jacob and Joshua, a foster daughter, Alisson, a daughter in law, Ana (married to Joseph) and two beautiful granddaughters, Elsie and Lucy. We enjoy spending time together camping, boating, fishing, going to the beach and riding ATV's.

Kaitlyn Barclay

Assistant Director & Infant/Toddler Teacher. Employed Since October 2017

Education: I graduated from Sonora High School in 2016. I am currently enrolled at Columbia College earning my AA Degree in Child Development.

Family: I currently live with my Fiance, Jeremy and my daughter, Sadie. I have 2 sisters, 1 brother, 2 nieces and 1 nephew. I enjoy photography, swimming and spending time with my family, friends and my Fiance who also works here at Kountry Kids.

Jeremy Rainbolt

Teachers Aide/Cook/Janitor. Employed Since May 2018

Education: I graduated from Sonora High School in 2015. I am currently enrolled at Columbia College taking Child Development and Forestry Classes.

When I was young I attended Kountry Kids and graduated in 2001.

Family: I currently with live with my Fiance, Kaitlyn and my daughter, Sadie. I have 1 younger brother, Zack and 1 older brother Michael. I enjoy being outdoors, photography, riding ATV's, working on my trucks and spending time with my family, friends and my Fiance who also works here at Kountry Kids.

Sandy Cooper

Teacher. Employed from 1993-95 and 2005-17, 2023 to present

Education: I graduated in 1987 and took Child Development Classes both at Columbia College and Cerro Coso College. I currently hold a Child Development Associate Teachers Permit and have 27 ECE units.

Family: I have one daughter, Stephanie, who gave me two grandchildren, Cooper and Whitley and two sons, Bryan and Gabe.

Hobbies: I enjoy spending time outside, gardening & camping and spending time with family.

Cherisse McIntee

Teacher, Employed since August 21, 2023

Education: I graduated from West Bay High School in 2003 and from Canada Junior College with a Child Development Associate Credential in 2017. I am currently enrolled at Columbia College and working towards my AA in Child Development.

Family: I live in beautiful Sonora with my pets. I love spending time with my family, friends & my boyfriend who also lives in Sonora.

Hobbies: I enjoy going on hikes and spending time outdoors. I also love to cook and do arts and crafts.

Heather Khan

Teacher’s Aide. Employed since July 31, 2023

Education: I graduated from Woodside High School in 1977 and from Canada Junior College in 1979 and I am currently taking Child Development classes at Cerro Coso College.

Hobbies: I have a passion for culture and can speak English, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and Spanish. In my spare time I like reading, hiking and helping others.

Chris Sarver

Teacher’s Aide. Employed since September 3, 2024

Education: I attended Columbia College, where I majored in Child Development.

Family: I’m a widow and I live with my two sons, Jacob and Micah. I have one sister who lives in Colorado

Hobbies: I enjoy swimming, hiking, walking, reading, and I love art.

Jake Ecroyd

Teacher’s Aide. Employed since July 31, 2023

Education: I graduated from Summerville High School in 2023 and am currently taking Child Development classes at Theroia College so that I may obtain my Teachers Permit in Child Development.

Family: I currently still live at home with my mom, (Denise), dad, and siblings, Joshy and Ali. I have an older brother, Joe and sister in law, Ana and 2 nieces, Elsie and Lucy.

Hobbies: I enjoy being outdoors and doing activities such as camping, fishing and swimming, off-roading and skiing.
